New Quick Coupler Systems for Diggers for Sale

Manufacture of coupler technology Paladin Construction Group has unveiled two brand new quick coupler systems which will be displayed at the ConExpo 2011. The JRB PowerLatch and Bradco Mini-Excavator Coupler will allow users to quickly change attachments on most mini-excavators, wheel loaders, backhoe loaders and diggers for sale the company says.

Paladin have made quick coupler systems for over 25 years, and collaborated with Miller UK Ltd on its latest products, part of a range of eight attachment brands. These brands are: JRB, Bradco, Sweepster, CP, CustomWorks, FFC, Harley and McMillen. In addition to these brands, all JRB and Bradco couplers are compatible with most attachment and machine brands.

The company claims that its new JRB PowerLatch, designed by Miller, is one of the safest, most advanced quick couplers available for diggers and backhoe loaders. Engineered with the Automatic Blocking System (ABS), it features backup mechanical locks on both the front and rear attachment pins that are independent of the machine’s hydraulic locking and operating system. The ABS mechanical backup safety system automatically locks both pins so coupler engagement is maintained even if a hydraulic failure occurs, the company says.

The Bradco Mini-Excavator Coupler maintains the same Miller design features as the JRB PowerLatch and is available in two versions, featuring a compact design. The manual version uses a manual locking pin to maintain attachment engagement and worker safety on all mini-excavator models. For five-ton mini-excavators and above, the fully automatic version replaces the manual safety pin with hydraulic operation and includes hydraulic check valves that prevent attachment disengagement if hydraulic failure occurs.

In addition to these new couplers, Paladin Construction Group will also display its new CP Scoop Bucket and new Bradco Mini-Excavator Buckets for different kinds of diggers for sale at the ConExpo 2011 show.

Recruitment Drive Launched Due to Increased Demand for JCB Excavators

Rochester-based construction giant JCB have announced that the increase demand for excavators has led them to launch a recruitment drive for engineers. The company, famous for its wide range of construction equipment that are favourites of contractors around the world, is looking to recruit a further 80 engineers to assist in supplying the growing demand for digger and excavator products.

The new engineers are being enlisted to work at JCB's manufacturing sites in Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Wales. JCB state that it's global markets, such as those in the Middle East and India, have seen growth that warrants the recruitment drive.

Alan Blake, JCB's Chief Executive, says that the company has a reputation for talented engineers and this will form the base of their plans for the future.

“JCB’s success over the past 65 years has been built on having the very best engineering talent," said Blake. “This year has started very strongly and all the signs at this stage are that growth will continue throughout 2011."

He added: “We need to respond to that growth and strengthen our excellent team of engineers with new talent as demand for our machines increases and as we develop a range of exciting new products for the future.”

The vacancies JCB are looking to fill include positions for mechanical, electronic and electrical design engineers, development engineers, research and development engineers, engine design and development engineers, technicians, apprentice engineers, undergraduate engineers and graduate engineers.

JCB have heavily invested in the recruitment and training of engineering talent in the past, and have several JCB Academies around the world which are focused on developing the careers of young would-be engineers.

The firm has had several big wins already this year including a £14 million deal with UK plant hire firm Hewden's for excavators and other vehicles, and just recently, JCB announced a £14 million deal with hirer H.E Services to supply new machines.

Case Launch New Range of C Series Excavators

Case Construction Equipment has launched its C Series line of excavators with three new models. Case say that each of the new machines feature increased fuel efficiency, productivity and improved serviceability and operator comfort.

The models released are to replace those in the manufacturer's B Series product line. The CX250C, CX300C and CX350C diggers also feature Tier 4 Interim-certified cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) technology that burns cleaner while delivering superior horsepower. The new Case machines deliver 177, 207 and 266 net horsepower respectively.

Tim O'Brien, marketing manager for Case Construction Equipment say their new line has been designed to fulfil the industry's need for cost-efficient equipment: “Contractors are looking for lower operating costs and higher productivity. The new Case C Series excavators deliver both,”

O'Brien added: “In trenching applications, for example, the Case CX250C excavator can save as much as three gallons of fuel per hour compared to competitive models. If an equipment owner puts 1,000 hours on a machine in a year, he can put $9,000 straight to the bottom line.”

The new Case Intelligent Hydraulic System technology reduces total fuel consumption and improves performance, said O'Brien. A new Boom Economy Control feature lowers engine RPMs during the boom down and swing operation, while the Auto Economy Control lowers RPMs when the joysticks are not in use.

Swing Relief Control technology manages the hydraulic power allotted at the start of the swing operation, and Spool Stroke Control creates an automatic pressure adjustments when digging.

“These fuel efficiency gains are especially significant,” O’Brien explained. “While typical CEGR systems lose fuel efficiency, we’ve actually increased fuel efficiency on our Case C Series excavators by up to 10 percent over our previous B Series models.

"This is noteworthy considering that the Case B Series excavators earned the prestigious Energy Conservation Award, bestowed by Japan’s Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, due to its fuel efficiency. While delivering exceptional fuel efficiency, the Case C Series models continue to be in the top of their class for productivity.”
